Traditional urban renewal/regeneration programmes have focused almost exclusively on physical infrastructure in Western cities, whether that be Cabrini Green (Chicago), Elephant and Castle (London), Ballymun (Dublin) or Govan (Glasgow). There is no research available to suggest this is the most effective way to address social marginalisation.
